Nurses

The practice provides an integrated nursing service with close liaison between practice nurses working at the health centre and district nurses who see patients at home. The services the nurses provide are nursing, advice on health promotion and preventative medicine. Nurses are able to advise you if they feel your problem is within their training and competence. Treatment Room nurses offer routine procedures such as wound dressing, stitch removal, ear syringing and blood sampling.

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Practice Management

Our Practice Manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Reception

The team comprises of Diane, Susan, Nan, Clare and Ally who will be your first point of contact with the practice. They endeavour at all times to be friendly and helpful. We believe their role is vitally important and ask them to work at all times within the strict guidelines laid down by the practice and its policies. The receptionist may ask a few questions regarding your illness in order to make sure the appointment you make is appropriate to your needs and with the right person. You have the right to decide who you disclose information to and our staff are trained to respect this. The receptionists also deal with the ordering and collection of repeat prescriptions.

Community Midwives

Our community midwives care for women in all stages of pregnancy and supervise our antenatal clinics which are run on Wednesday mornings by a doctor in the practice.

Community Nurses

The District Nurse provides skilled nursing care in the community to patients in their own home or residential care settings. They provide specialist patient-focused nursing care for the chronically sick and terminally ill, particularly those who need intensive and technological care or who have specialist care needs. Contact Telephone - 01357 529911.

Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing. Telephone 01357 524350.
